This updated version of Cruttenden's popular first edition (1986, reprinted in 1989,1991, 1994, & 1995) focuses on British English but also discusses other varieties ofEnglish, comparative intonation, universals, and L1 acquisition. Much of the work is unchangedfrom the original, yet this edition includes a significant update to the literature.
