The editors wish to thank sincerely the following individuals who provided us reviews for manuscripts on which we made decisions from November 1, 2013 to October 31, 2014. Reviewers of multiple manuscripts are noted.

Of the 312 requests to review made, 32 percent did not respond at all. This is a perennial problem since each request remains open for 10 days before the system ends the invitation and moves on to a new reviewer candidate. This figure is a bit higher for 2014 than the previous statistic (23 percent). Of course, this means that we had a lower ‘response rate’ in 2014 – of all requests made, 43 percent provided a review. Laid out in full, of those 68 percent who responded to our initial request, 69 percent accepted the reviewing task, and 92 percent of them completed the review.

The work of all journals would be greatly facilitated if reviewers did two things: 1) respond to review requests with dispatch regardless of accepting the task; and 2) start to log in to Editorial Manager and other online journal management systems with their ORCID accounts. ORCID is an attempt to provide all academics with a unique ID number that helps keep track of academic output. If you do not have an ORCID account, sign up for one at orcid.org. The importance to the work of journals is that it means there is only one repository that needs to be updated upon moving institutions or when needing to update addresses. We suspect that some requests are being sent to abandoned email accounts.
