Thematic issues of SSLA ideally focus on areas of current interest and are an appropriate venue to bring together in one issue numerous approaches to a problem or methodology in the field of SLA. A thematic issue is a logical extension of a conference panel, special colloquium, or the work of a collaborative research group, and we encourage you to think about those that you have recently attended, organized, or participated in.
A proposal should include a detailed rationale for the thematic issue and abstracts (250-400 words) from the authors of each of the manuscripts to be included.
The closing date for proposal submissions for the 2016 thematic issue is September 8, 2014. First drafts of manuscripts will be due February 9, 2015.
Please submit all proposals to Susan Gass (ssla@msu.edu) by the deadline. For additional information, please contact Susan Gass, Associate Editor at gass@msu.edu.
