In the article by K. M. Malone, L. Quinlivan, T. Grant and C. C. Kelleher published in Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences (Malone et al, published online 13 November 2012) a citation was listed incorrectly on page 4 of the paper and in the references.

The correct citation in the text is:

However, because of differing suicide rates between jurisdictions (Mok et al. Reference Mok, Kapur, Windfuhr, Leyland, Appleby, Platt and Webb2012), the method of using counts actually un-earthed the age-related factor we identified.

The correct reference is:

  • Mok, PLH, Kapur, N, Windfuhr, K, Leyland, AH, Appleby, L, Platt, S, Webb, RT (2012). Trends in national suicide rates for Scotland and for England & Wales, 1960–2008. British Journal of Psychiatry 200, 245–251.

We apologise to the authors of Malone et al and Mok et al. 2012, and to the readers for this error.
