This special issue on Postmemory work and the digital in Southeast Asia has been developed under the guidance of Professor Birgit Bräuchler, whose intellectual leadership has shaped its thematic coherence and scholarly direction. We are grateful for her careful curation of contributions, coordination of the peer review process, and commitment to maintaining the high standards of the journal. The editorial team has worked closely with Professor Birgit Bräuchler throughout the process, and we are pleased to present this special issue to our readers.
Dedication
We dedicate this special issue to Oscar Salemink (1958–2023), an outstanding scholar of heritagization and remembrance in Southeast Asia. Oscar provided much appreciated input to both workshop and workshop proposal but did not live long enough to see this special issue come to fruition. Rest in Peace, Oscar!
