During the article’s production five paragraphs from the section “Introduction” were erroneously duplicated three times, beginning with the sentence: “The focus on state effects requires us to direct our attention to the less visible dimensions of state power.”

To preserve the pagination of the special issue, the duplicated content has been removed on pp.199-202 of the PDF version of the article, and replaced by the message: “Blank space: continued on p. 202”

The duplicated paragraphs have been removed from the Cambridge Core webpage version of the article.
