This Elements series ranges widely over the many philosophical aspects of war and peace, including the ethics of war, the intersection of culture and war, the impact of war and the military on real communities, the challenges of achieving and keeping the peace, and the strategic limitations of war as a tool of statecraft.
It includes theoretical approaches to war and peace such as just war theory, pacifism, peacebuilding, and feminism, and considers the broad questions of war’s relationship to power and the complicated and contested place of the military in a just society.
