About the Editor
Cindy D. Kam received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan. She is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Chair and Professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. As a political psychologist, she uses a psychological lens to understand how people develop political opinions and why they engage in political action. Kam’s research engages with the implications of a wide range of psychological phenomena—including intergroup attitudes, cognitive engagement, risk propensity, implicit associations, and disgust sensitivity—for public opinion, electoral decision-making, turnout, and political participation. She has published articles and book chapters on best practices for experimental design and regularly teaches courses in experimental methods.
