The Introduction states the purpose of the volume in revealing how blind spots in the disciplines of international relations and international law obscure the complicity of transnational corporations and corporate laws in creating and sustaining an environmental crisis of planetary proportions. It makes the case for a historical materialist theory of law and politics as the solution to these blind spots and outlines how each chapter develops a praxis conception of transnational law with the potential to address the unaccountability of transnational corporate power that is the root of the ecological crisis.
